I have been excited about christmas coming since around March, so when Ruth and Liz told me they were putting on a festive fayre at the Farleigh Road Farm Shop this November let’s just say i was very happy indeed! Just lately, i’ve been so inspired by rich, luxurious tones and fabrics.. think gorgeous plum velvet and reels of thick emerald green ribbons. Heaven. So i’ve decided to run wild with my love of these tones and make big, full sumptious wreaths for the fayre! Aswell as wreaths, i’ll be making table centres and beautiful bouquets full of the festive spirit.
The Fayre is happening on 22nd November and it starts at 4pm which in my opinion is the most appropriate time for a mulled wine and a mince pie or two. Aswell as the treats i’ve already mentioned, my stall will be crammed with all kinds of floral delights and my jam jar posies will start from only £5, so there’ll be something for everyone. Come and say hello and feel super prepared and giddy for the christmas season to begin!
So, the first of my summer weddings kicked off with a bright bang this weekend, with all the colours and textures reminiscent of a carnival! I can’t express how much i enjoyed putting these arrangements together, the smell was intoxicating and the air of fun was to be seen everywhere. The couple, Heather and Ian, just oozed excitement, love and joy so i really felt their colour choices were spot on.
Their wedding venue was Gants Mill in Bruton and i have to say, it’s become one of my firm favourites with it’s beautiful country cottage gardens and stunning surroundings. The owner, Greg, is possibly one of the nicest people i’ve ever met.
What a way to enter summer, eh? I feel giddy with the anticipation of more weddings to come and all the beautiful seasonal flowers i get to play with. Plus, those long summer evenings are just made for a gin or two in the garden..cheers!
It’s got to be one of the most spoken sentences of late but oh, how spring is my favourite time of year! I can see all the shoots in the garden coming back to life, the carpet of forget-me-nots and bluebells spread across the flower beds like a welcoming offer to have picnics and gatherings.
In the flower shed i am so pleased to see an abundance of colourful flowers ready to be made into posies and bouquets. Ranunculus, tulips and cammomile being some of my favourites and they smell divine!
The best thing for me about spring though is starting to plan all the amazing upcoming weddings that will be full of the most stunning flowers. Watch this space for all the wedding flower photos.
One of my favourite times of the year as a florist is Mother’s day. I personally adore all the spring flowers that smell and look sensational and i know i’m making gifts that really mean a lot to people. Of course, being a mum myself, i do have another reason to love it (endless cups of tea being made for me is my favourite present)!
I will be stocking up Farleigh Road Farm Shop with loads of fabulous gifts, including bouquets, jam jar posies and really unique vintage tea cup arrangements. Prices start from £5 so there’s something for everyone. This year i’m selling beautiful spring plants as well which are so pretty! If you would like to pre order any type of arrangement please feel free to ask at the farm shop or contact me on 07756 932945. I welcome emails too.
I am over the moon to be featured in this months issue of Vow Magazine (issue 12). Their whole aesthetic is exactly what i adore, from the thick, matt pages to the really inspiring and different designers they cram into each magazine. It feels amazing to share my creations with a wider audience and voice a bit more about myself.
For any bride and grooms to be, i’m talking all things wedding related so make sure you grab yourself a free copy in your nearest stockist!
I am really super excited about my stunning new website! I wanted something that really encapsulates who i am as a florist and i think it does just that! Having moved further into my love of bohemian style over the years, experimenting with bright and bold colours, i felt it was time to let the flowers shine in their best light.
A big massive thank you to Redstar Design for creating this glorious website.
